After your Henna Appointment

Leave your henna in place for a minimum of 4 hours, or up to 8 hours if possible.   Longer time means a darker, longer-lasting stain.

Do not place polyester or plastics over it.

Do not get paste wet.

LEMON-SUGAR SEALED HENNA (traditional, standard henna sealant)

Rub off dried henna paste over a sink or outside using a towel, edge of nail file, edge of dull butter knife, or edge of a credit card.

To remove any residue, use a vegetable oil (olive, coconut, etc.)

TAPED HENNA (usually saved for torso work)

Remove tape

The henna paste will mostly come off with the tape

If any remains, rub it off over a sink

To remove any residue, use a vegetable oil (olive, coconut, etc.)

Aftercare For Your Henna Stain

Avoid water/washing area as much as possible for 12-24 hours.

Prior to water exposure, apply a waxy balm to keep water out. (Lip balm, coconut oil, etc.)

Your henna design will get darker over the next 1-3 days.

Continue to use balm/oil on it twice a day and prior to bathing

Your henna stain will gradually fade by week 2 or 3
